Privacy Policy

The Mega Backdoor (“MBD,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is operated by MBD Media LLC, a California limited liability company (2108 N St, Ste N, Sacramento, CA 95816). This policy explains what we collect when you use themegabackdoor.com and our app at app.themegabackdoor.com (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: help@themegabackdoor.com.

1. The short version

We collect the minimum we need to run the Service — your email, your account and profile, the ideas you ask us to score, and basic usage data. We don't sell your personal information for money. We do use an advertising pixel (Meta) that may count as “sharing” under California law — you can opt out (see Section 7). The ideas and inputs you submit are sent to our AI provider to generate your verdict.

2. Information we collect

  • Account & contact info— your email address, used for passwordless (“magic link”) sign-in and account communications.
  • Profile & onboarding info— what you tell us during onboarding (e.g., your interests, experience, and “founder-fit” preferences) so we can personalize verdicts and recommendations.
  • Content you submit — the business or side-project ideas, prompts, and notes you enter to get a Verdict or Game Plan, and the items you save to your pipeline.
  • Transaction info — when you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We receive limited information such as your email, subscription plan, and payment status. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Usage data — how you use the Service (pages and features visited, verdicts run, credits used, actions taken) to operate, secure, and improve it.
  • Device & analytics data — standard technical data (IP address, browser/device type, approximate location, referring links) collected via cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta Pixel for measurement and advertising.

3. How we use information

To create and secure your account; to generate and personalize your verdicts, Game Plans, and recommendations; to process subscriptions and provide support; to send service and (with your consent where required) marketing email; to measure and improve the Service; to detect fraud and abuse; and to comply with the law.

4. AI processing of your inputs

The Service uses third-party AI models (currently Anthropic's Claude) to generate verdicts and plans. The ideas, prompts, and profile context you submit are transmitted to that provider to produce your results. We do not use your private inputs to train public models, and our AI providers act as our processors under their terms. AI outputs are generated automatically and may be inaccurate — see our Terms for the “not advice / no guarantee” disclaimer.

5. Email

Transactional and newsletter email is delivered through Resend. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link; you can opt out at any time. We may still send essential account and transactional messages (e.g., sign-in links, receipts).

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with service providers (“processors”) who run the Service on our behalf, and as required by law or to protect our rights. Current processors include:

  • Supabase — authentication and database
  • Stripe — payments and subscription billing
  • Resend — email delivery
  • Vercel — hosting and serverless functions
  • Anthropic — AI generation (Section 4)
  • Meta — advertising pixel and measurement (Section 7)

7. Advertising, cookies & your opt-out

We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, analytics, and advertising. We use the Meta Pixelto measure conversions and show ads. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the data shared with advertising partners like Meta may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out by emailing help@themegabackdoor.comwith the subject “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information,” by using your browser's cookie controls, or via a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we honor where required. We also honor “Do Not Track” where legally required.

8. Your choices & rights

You can update your profile, cancel your subscription (via the customer portal), unsubscribe from marketing email, and request access to or deletion of your data by emailing help@themegabackdoor.com. Depending on where you live — for example, California (CCPA/CPRA) or the EEA/UK (GDPR) — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, and limit the use of your data, to opt out of sale/sharing/targeted advertising, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. EEA/UK users may also lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority.

9. Data retention & security

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Children

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact help@themegabackdoor.com and we will delete it.

11. International users

We operate in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our processors operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.

12. Changes & contact

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date and, where appropriate, by notice in the Service. Questions or privacy requests: help@themegabackdoor.com · MBD Media LLC, 2108 N St, Ste N, Sacramento, CA 95816.
